I’ve been hanging out at Ren Faires for a while now. I’ve got some really nice garb, but there are some merchants that are, well, just special. They have some really unique stuff, and most of it is available on the internet. You don’t have to go to the Fair to purchase it.
You can find people wearing medieval or renaissance garb not just at the fair. There are SCA events (medieval reinactors) LARP, which is Live Action Role Playing (like real life dungeons & dragons). Many towns now support a ‘jousting’ dinner theater. Try showing up in garb for a hoot!
Many of the mechants sell items that can be worn absolutely anywear. Jewelry – well it works with anything. Cloaks and capes might seem a bit out out style – but try wearing a full length cloak to the opera! You’ll be a hit!

- Renaissance Hats at Tall Toad
Accessories are everything, and you really need to have a hat! Awesome pirate hats, but also tall hats, berets, and those fancy pointed ladies hats. Elegant and fun!

Haven’t you always wanted an Irish Torc. These really cool neck wear are stunning. I wear mine out on the town dancing! They also have very nice bracelets, broaches, earrings and stuff.

These excellent wool capes and cloaks will keep you both warm and dry, whether you are playing at the Faire, LARP (live action role Play) or at an SCA event. Elegant too!
